The Naturalization Papers from the Chouteau County Records in Fort Benton, Montana, are a key resource for genealogical research, particularly for tracing ancestors in the region that includes Liberty County. Originally part of Chouteau County, the area encompassing Chester transitioned to Hill County before becoming Liberty County in 1920. These papers were transcribed and published by the Broken Mountains Genealogical Society in September 1998.
